Anyone seem to have problems with painful out of the blue, leg, feet, or toe spasms? I've had S.D. for six years post car wreck. The last few months I have started to wake from a sound sleep with severe cramps in the legs or feet. The toe spasms are really awful and have to be hand massaged out. Then I see a sort of big toe tremor, tingling for a time afterwards. Seeing the neurologist on Wed., so I'll see what she thinks... maybe I'm progressing (sigh)with additional neurological stuff? They did blood work last time and nothing unusual showed up. Anyone know if Clonopin causes side effects like this? I've been taking .5 X 4 day for a couple of years. Sherry/Mixed/Denver |

Sherry, I started with leg and feet cramps when I began taking Neurontin about 6 weeks ago. I began with neck pain at the same time. I gradually got off the Neurontin and all these symptoms ceased. I am now taking it again and the symptoms are beginning again. I'm hoping this wears off as time goes. |

That is very interesting. Thanks for your reply. I've been reading a lot of pro and con on the B.B. about Neurontin. I was on Neurontin about four years ago for two years. I was also put on Klonopin at the same time. Also had asthma inhalers and estrogen replacement Rxs. All those medications became too much for me to deal with. So, I weaned myself off of the Neurontin and Klonopin. A few months later, I found my voice was getting so bad, I could hardly talk at all. So, the neurologist put me back on the Klonopin. I have an appointment with the neurologist in the AM for large muscle Botox injections to shoulders and back (old whiplash stuff that keep the muscles spasming). The Botox has worked great for that for about 4 months each time! Just started getting laryngeal Botox from the neuro-laryngologist a year ago for AB S.D. Now that I'm up to 3 units, each chord and post six weeks, he thinks I probably have Mixed S.D. So, get to go see the voice doc for more AD injections, also tomorrow morning. I'm going to be feeling pretty full of "sticks"! The voice is very much improved, but not where he thinks it has the potential to be. So... will see what the heck the neurologist thinks is going on with the leg/feet/toe spasms... perhaps a side effect of the Konopin? Anyone ever heard of that? Thanks, Sherry/Mixed/Denver |
