Flu like symptoms after botox?

I received my sixth injection on February 12. Since then I have experienced a continuing headache and constant nausea. Unfortunately, I had the same reaction after my fifth injection. The symptoms lasted approximately 3 weeks after number 5. I also take preventive medications for migraine headaches. When I asked my ear, nose, and throat doctor if my symptoms were caused from the botox, he told me he had never had another patient to complain with my symptoms. Has any one else ever had flu like symptoms after botox, or am I just 1 in a million? Thank you for any feedback you may give me.

I just had my 15th Botox injection 3 weeks ago and I have been coughing and wheezing ever since. Even though I have had a constant cough for years, it seems much worst after the injections. It usually improves though after several weeks. At times I wonder if I am allergic to the Botox, however, it is such a relief to be rid of the spasms that I really don't care. When I first started taking Botox injections in 1990 I had the same reaction. The diagnosis was that the dose was too large.

Hi Tammy,

The written info sent home with me after each botox visit says "flu-like symptoms are normal". My doctor has treated over 1000 SD patients. My individual experience has been that I usually feel tired and achy two-three days after injection - not too bad, but just not myself.

Hope this info gives you some peace of mind :-)
