Hi ,I'm new to the SD Bulletin Board.I well tell you a little about myself I was diagnosed with Cervical Dystonia in 1999 in 2000 I was diagnosed with Blepharospasm,I had Limited Myectomy in April and have done quite well with it, before surgery I was received Botox every 8 weeks, after surgery there has not been any Botox given for my eyes, but I still get then for my neck. About 3 months ago I notes a change in my voice it was like it take everything I have to speak over 10 words I can fell all the muscle pull in my throat. I go to a Ear Noise and Throat Doctor Jan.2. I can't believe this might be happing again. I just wonder when well it stop, or where well it go next. Thank for listing. |

Margaret, it's been a week or more since you posted. How are you doing? What a lot to have to go through! I just hope your ENT is very familiar with dystonias and can put your voice issues in your larger context effectively and appropriately. Are you near one of the major centers for treatment, so you can be seen by a team? Please keep us up to date on how you are doing. all my best, Linda AB Annapolis MD |

Hi Margaret, I also have cervical dystonia. My neck pulls my head to the left. It is very difficult to relax my neck; especially to go to sleep; I cannot relax my neck. also when I'm suppose to keep my head still, it wants to pull to the left. I also have spasmodic dysphonia. I've had two botox treatments. Each time he injected my left neck and my voice. I have not had any problems with my eyes. Good luck with that. Let me know how your Jan 2 appointment goes.
