Sandy can you give me an email address that works please. I wanted to respond back to you but your email gets returned. I am really interested in communicating with anyone who has gone to NIH, not necessarily for Botox treatment or testing. Any other studies and how is it managed once you go there. Such as how long have you had to go and so forth. I have AB/SD and it is deteriorated to the point that most of the time I have no voice at all. I also have Hep c, therefore I am concerned about auto immune factors with Hep C. NIH put out an excellent paper on this that is on the web, and actually auto immune problems are associated with the weakening of the muscles. If anyone has been there, or has some input on this I really would appreciate it. Thanks Jean C. Phelps AB/Sd |

Jean, I did the NIH study about a year ago and the whole experience was wonderful. Dr Ludlow and her team were friendly and really pleasent to work with. I actually had alot of fun doing it. The whole thing took a few hours including checking in to the NIH which I found to be a pretty efficient system. I was not able to do the complete study due to a heart condition, but we did most of the testing with little or no trouble at all. I highly recomend doing the study and I think it is a great opportunity for all of us to help in the search for new and better treatments. I am looking forward to seeing Dr. Ludlow again at the symposium in March. Good Luck, Gary Toll AB/SD |
