Oh, I might add that today is my 49th birthday, marking my add/sd voice over trait that i have been prone to for approximately 14years now . I have tried the botox, but felt uncomfortable with botulism being in my throat. And it is not fda approved yet. To each his own. But i have been a gronola lovin vegetarian forever too! The wife didn't like the idea of it either. I did try accupunture but didn't like the arduous drive to keep getting the series of treatment to get any results. So i can't really be of any help in that regard. I just feel that i am fortunate to live in a small comunity where everyone knows me and is willing to put up with me. I always worry about getting pulled over by the police when i am out of town because i have had a couple of bad experiences with police responding to my nervous voice to the point of detaining me for hours assuming i'm a miscreant of the law, which makes me very nervous and compounds the experience. I can imagine for most of you, my brothers and sisters, that living in a large city and articulating with the grocer can put you in the spot light over and over again. Perhaps if we carried cards , or had our driver's licenses portray our sd. traits then possible jail time would be avoided. Gene studies theories reveil that the recessive gene that prevented our ancestors from succombing to sd. has shown them to have proclivities with alcoholism and drug abuse. Since the SD. gene has errupted in us , we have missed out on possible more problems than we might of been able to handle otherwise. How luck we are! I feel it is our duty to educate those about Distonias and continue research so we can share with the world. Think of the possibilities of those misdiagnosed that need to know that Distonia might be the affliction where Botox could relieve the pain so they could live again. Let me know if my assumptions are on track please! Peace and love to you all !!! |
