I've just recently been diagnosed having spasmodic dysphonia. I didn't even know there was a medical term for my voice. I have had to deal with this voice of mine since around 14 and I'm now 43. The doctor believes the botox injections will help me tremendously. I am eager to try it, but can't help being scared it won't work. I cannot imagine actually having a normal voice. Mine is the worst when I speak on the phone. I have to admit I felt better knowing others had the same thing. I never knew. Have any of you had the botox injections and can you give me any advice on it? One of my concerns is my insurance won't cover it. Thanks for any help you can give me.
