Re: recommendations for Seattle area
Hi Madeline - The Research Foundation would have names of doctors in the Seattle area. I go to Dr. David Pratt in Tacoma which is not far from Seattle. He studied under Dr. Richard Anderson who developed the surgery for BEB. He administers the injections. No matter who you go to, ask for the EMLA cream to be used first. This should cut the pain of the injections. Good luck.
Re: recommendations for Seattle area
I went to Baylor for my first injections iin 1990. I live much closer than you, but the trip by itself just wears you out. Between the cost of the airfare, taxi (or car) and the hotel (in those days they insisted you stay in Houston overnite), the cost was extremely high. I know the NSDA has a list of physicans that give botox altho I would bet it's out of date. Hope you find something closer. John

Hi Madeline,
I went to see a Dr. Seely in Bellevue, WA but after a couple of Botox injections that weren't too successful he refered me to a Dr. Hillel at the University of Washington in Seattle, Dr. Hillel is the Head of the ENT surgery Dept. at the UW. He is a wonderful Dr. and very knowledgeable of SD. He was able to identify the exact muscle causing my SD(he did and EMG) and injected with success!
I've been to him for four Botox injections and each one was successful.
He and his staff are wonderful. The next time I see him will be to gather my medical records since I just scheduled my apt. with Dr. Berke for surgery! Good luck to you.Barb
