This is a question for those who have had SD awhile, like me. Have any of you noticed that, over time, your pronunciation of words has changed? Not just the initial difficulty with the same words...but as time went on, have these words become easier, and the once-easy words more tough? Okay, I'm probably not making myself clear (case in point, lol). Example: I (as an AB/SDer) had trouble saying numbers like three, six, fifty...I've noticed that I now say them better. But some words that used to be easy to pronounce in my early bouts with SD, like hurricane or hippie, are now harder to say. Could it be Botox re-training how you speak, or just the changes in your neurotransmitters and voice mechanism? --fancynancy-- |

Your post was so timely for me as I have been wondering the same thing lately. I answer the phone where I work (Eek!) and I have noticed the issue you mentioned. For instance, for a while I could answer "Good Morning ..." and I could speak fairly clearly, after a few weeks I had trouble saying "morning", it always came out "morn" and then my voice would go hide. So, I then can change to "Hello,..." and I would be O.K. for a while, until it started "He-lll-oo". I have never understood this?? After a few months, I can usually start over again. Of course, my clients usually laugh it off because they never know how I am going to answer the phone! Maybe someone else can explain the why part of it, but I do understand your confusion.
