Do I recall correctly from your earlier posts that it takes a relatively large dose of botox for you?In my own case, I am still thinking I have muscle tension instead of SD-AD. I have never been convinced that my diagnosis was thorough or accurate. The injector said he gave me 20 units of botox the one and only shot I had.
I have had bouts of muscles freezing up. The first time, a few years before the voice problem, my back muscles froze up. It was very painful to move, sit down or stand up. I discovered the cure by accident - a friend came through selling a tonic. She insisted I try it on the spot - 20 drops under the tongue. To my amazement my back started feeling better immediately. It was mostly magnesium in a liquid. I took this for about 3 months, trying to stop several times and having the pain come back. Finally I didn't need it any more.
The second time was when a doctor prescribed a designer estrogen (based on no tests but my age). I took 1 pill a day for 3 days and my entire body got stiff. I stopped it, but was practically bedridden for 2 weeks due to muscle stiffness and pain.
There was an earlier incident in college where I woke up one morning and could only open my jaw barely wide enough to use a spoon. This wore off after several months.
I would like to see research done on the biochemistry and endocrine profiles of people with SD and MTD. Also a way to differentiate between MTD and SD. Botox seems to work for both, but a correct diagnosis would help in trying to find a personal path to a cure.
