Seems like everyone I know is a little hard of hearing. I am so sick of hearing HUH??? and WHAT!!! and SAY AGAIN!!!
Since surgery my voice is pretty good, so I guess that is just what you have to expect when you hang out with old people.

I had to laugh at this one....I'm glad to see a good sense of humor. I think I should get a job to conduct hearing screening tests. (hah hah) I actually became friends with a deaf person who I told that she could hear me better than most people because she reads lips. She really can!!

We are friends with a couple, one of whom is deaf and the other signs for her. Many times the conversation has ended up with the deaf one interpreting for the hearing one.
My husband is either hard of hearing or very hard of listening. Sometimes he will say "huh" before I even get a chance to finish my sentence. When he says "huh" I just stare at him and don't repeat it right away. Sometimes the words seem to catch up to him and he does know what I said. If I have to repeat it I say it even softer. This works. He pays more attention. I feel that if I have to work to talk he is going to have to work to hear.

I found this so funny. I am tired of hearing huh also. My friend got sick and couldn't hear very well...we communicated so much better because she was reading my lips...I was disappointed when her hearing came back. Atleast my children have learned that when I look at them they come to me and place their ear next to my mouth so they can hear what I have to say. Thanks for halping me find humor in all of this!!!
