Hi - I have cervical dystonia. I was diagnosed in Aug. 2003. I have had several botox shots but they do not seem to be doing as much as I would like. I have a referral to a "Dr. Porter" who works with Dr. Lang in Toronto. As my experience with my current neuro. has not been a very good one, I was wondering if anyone has seen Dr. Porter and, if so, could you please give me your opinion of him/her. My husband and I have read a lot about CD and would like to ask questions and have them answered. In other words, a neuro. who is willing to take the time to listen to the patient. So if anyone could has seen Dr. Porter I would so appreciate your input. Thanks !

Hi Jane,

I do not know the doctors you mention. I go to Dr. Earl Consky, a movement disorder neurologist for my blepharospasm, and know that he also treats CD. His office is in Toronto. He does not treat my laryngeal dystonia, however.

I am assuming that, since you are posting on this board, you probably have a voice problem, as well. Do you live in Toronto? Carol

Hello Jane - welcome to the NSDA BB.

As far as the CD aspect of your post, you might also want to post to the main dystonia BB.

There are a lot of people there with CD, or spasmodic torticollis (ST).

Good luck!

David
