I thought the 60 minutes piece was great. I'd hoped it would explain dystonias a little more than it did and hoped it would describe other types of dystonia, but the piece did a beautiful job of explaining the joy of Leon being able to use his gift of music again... When I watched him in concert playing the very moving and challenging selection of music,
it brought tears to my eyes. For him, the whole experience of "getting
his hand back" and being able to play piano again with both hands must have been sublime.I was also inspired by his refusal to give up the piano for all those years before he discovered botox , and the way he played amazingly complex music with just his left hand. Certainly, his determination is as much a gift in his life as his musical talent.
