Does anyone know how to reach the newly-formed Musicians With Dystonia group? Do they have a web site, or email address?

Good question! Even though this group had extensive coverage in the May/June 2000 edition of the Dystonia Dialogue (official publication of DMRF) I could find no contact details at all - no e-mail addresses or telephone numbers - it's not evem listed in the list of national support groups.
The leader's names are Glen Estrin and Steven Frucht M.D. You can try contacting DMRF at dystonia@dystonia-foundation.org and see if they can help you.

Thanks Lloyd...just sent an email to DMRF. Hopefully they'll send the info. If so, I'll post it.

Okay, just got some info from Jennifer Molski, of the Dystonia Foundation. She forwarded my email to Glen Estrin, the leader of MWD...I'm supposed to receive a brochure about this Group. She reminded me that this group is still in its infancy, and has yet to have a web site etc. She gave me a link, which has a little background about Musicians With Dystonia:

I know there's a few of us on this BB who are singers and musicians (Jim, are you reading this? ).

Next time I go to a Basque restaurant, and they serve Pickled Tongue, I'll think of you...

Are you pulling your tongue too? (I'm still reading that long thread.) Does tongue-pulling help with singing?

I could try the earplug trick, but it's hard to do a (Studio) mix that way ;-)

I haven't had tongue in ages(no wise cracks please). I still get the tremors in the sound when I do the tongue pull....A true SD'er I am. I'm thinking if you stick a finger in one ear, pull your tongue with the other hand, you'll be able to move the slides with your nose and listen out of the other ear.....as long as it's mono!!! MOoooooooooooooo!

Nope, pulling tongue and moving the faders with my nose doesn't work. You lick the console--yuck! My fingers and elbow mess up the keypad too, with my finger in my ear. Not good for working in Pro Tools (software recording). Maybe a Q-Tip in my ear (or nose)?
