Amino acids, brain and nerve supplements?

Posted by Micki Nellis ® , Jan 22,2001,11:41   Archive
Goly's recommendation of "Brain Sustain" led me to my health food store, which recommended "Brain Link Complex" for improving brain and neural transmissions. This one has 21 amino acids, along with vitamins and minerals, and I think it made me feel calmer and less "on edge" immediately. Has anyone else tried this type of supplement? What were the results?
Thanks

I have been taking "Brain Link" for 4 days and I really think it is helping. I feel much calmer, don't go around clenching my teeth and holding my breath, and my husband says my voice is better. I have lost that feeling of waiting for the other shoe to fall. I have taken all kinds of supplements before but never took amino acids. This one has 21 amino acids including all the "essential" ones that your body can't make. Two or three of them are supposed to help depression, and all are supposed to facilitate brain-nerve communication.

I have been trying to post but was not able to, I am glad to be back on
Micki, So glad brain link is wokring for you.

My supplement "brain sustain" is really helping me. I too feel calmer and sleep better when I take it and notice a difference when I skip. I can't say I am cured, but my voice is better when I take it. along with that, My doctor has put me on the following

B50
DHEA
Protaba ( PABA is the generic of it)
Zinc 50

and I drink lots of water. I am also getting a water purifier put on my water system.

And........remeber I had reported that I had gotten a few bald patches about the size of a quarter? They are all coming back..Hooorray!. Some may say there is no relation! But I think all of this is somehow related, in my body anyway. My supplent, brain sustain, is very expensive, costing me $50, every two weeks. I am curious about who makes yours, I would be curious to give it a try.

Please post brand name and company who makes it. Thanks, Goly

The product is Brain Link complex. I believe it is made in San Antonio, TX. The url of the manufacturer is http://www.painstresscenter.com/Brainlink.html. It is $29.95 for about a 3 week supply.

My mood is much improved. I also notice color coming back to my face. For a long time it has been pasty looking.

I was also reading that DHEA and natural progesterone are good for neurotransmitters. I had used natural progesterone earlier and thought it helped. I am adding it again.

What is B50. What are the dosages of the vitamins and minerals?
Thanks
Micki
