I have had the good fortune to have been treated by Dr. Andrew Blitzer for the past 6 years. Unfortunately, my company has changed insurance carriers and Dr. Blitzer is not in my new plan. I have an appointment with Dr. Mark Forrest Gordon. Dr. Gordon is affiliated with North Shore LIJ Health Systems. Has anyone ever seen Dr. Gordon or knows of his rep. I would appreciate any info.

Hi. I haven't seen Dr. Gordon as a patient, but I did hear him speak at a dystonia symposium years ago. I know he is a well-regarded movement disorder specialist. As far as I know, he has an excellent reputation.

There are several ENTs in Manhattan who administer botox for SD. I would personally recommended Peak Woo, M.D. at the Voice Center at Mt. Sinai. Dr. Michael Pitman, an ENT at NY Eye & Ear, and Dr. Lucian Sulica, affiliated with Cornell, also provide botox treatment. All three are participants in several insurance plans.

If you would like their contact information, please feel free to write me off the BB.

I am not familiar with Dr. Gordon but I am a patient of Dr. Michael Pitman of the NY Eye and Ear Infirmary and I think he is wonderful, so caring and generous with his time. As someone new to this condition, his accessibility has been a tremendous help to me. I have never encountered a more compassionate physician.

Best of luck in your search for a new doctor.

Nan

Hi, Carol

I've been a patient of Dr. Lucian Sulica for many years. He also is very gentle and caring, and he gives very accurate shots with little or no discomfort. He originally sent me to Dr. Blitzer for confirmation of his diagnosis of AD/SD. Dr. Sulica was at Beth Israel, and NY Eye and Ear, and just recently moved to NY-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell. (http://www.cornellphysicians.com/lsulica/index.html)

BTW: Dr. Gordon is a Neurologist (with a good rep) who treats Dystonia and injects Botox; Dr.'s Blitzer and Sulica are ENT's who are very experienced in injecting Botox for SD.

Good luck!
Marian

Thanks to all who replied. I have just made an appointment with Dr. Sulica. Since he's an ENT specializing in neurologic voice disorders I feel more comfortable seeing him. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again
