adenoids, anyone?

I had a thought this past week wondering if anyone with ADSD has had their adenoids removed (as I have). My voice has always been more "nasally" since the adenoids were removed. I've also read an article that when kids get their adenoids removed it sometimes takes therapy to help them with their speech due to missing the (adenoid) tissue at the back of the throat. Anyway, I started thinking that maybe there was some connection. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any comments on this.

Thanks.
Kiley

Kiley, I had my adenoids removed years ago when I was around 4. I'm 67 now. It was not unusual then to remove them when your tonsills(sp?) were removed. It's an interesting thought.

I was just skimming through the posts and just had to respond to this one, just for the record. I had my tonsils and adenoids taken out at age 10 ( I'm 48 now) and did always have a more nasal sounding speech after that surgery. My AD SD kicked in at age 19 or 20.
