Are there any pilots with SD and if so how easy was it to get approval to use BOTOX from the FAA in order to pass the medical exam?

There is no ban on BOTOX. Oklahoma City Medical however will ask no flights be made for a day or two after injections. You probably downplay the symptoms with your AME.

The reason I asked is that the AOPA website lists BOTOX as a medication not allowed by the FAA but you have given me good news. Thanks.

I'm not a pilot, but I am an air traffic controller supervisor. The flight surgeon actually allowed me to work with SD, as long as my boss could hear me. Once I received a botox injection, they pulled my medical until I could pass a "practical speaking exam." Basically, once my boss could hear me talk in the control room, I could get my medical back.

I don't know if that helps any or not. Hope it works out for you.
