INCREASINGLY SEVERE PAIN AND TENDERNESS 1 WEEK AFTER BOTOX SHOT!!!

Hi:
I'm a little scared as to what may be going on. I had my usual bilateral botox injection last week, and everything seemed to go fine. However, over the last day or so I'm developing a considerable amount of pain and tenderness around the insertion point where the needle went in (frontal injection through the cartilege). It has definitely gotten worse during the day. If I touch the insertion point area, it is extremely sensitive and painful. This has me really concerned.
Anyone ever experience anything like this?? Unfortunately, my doctor is lecturing in Europe until the 17th. I will attempt to email, hoping that he's at least checking his messages from time to time.
Please, if anyone out there has any experience with something like this, I'd sure appreciate a post. This is definitely NOT like a sore throat. It's beginning to affect my whole neck area....if I turn my head from side to side it hurts. On a pain scale of 1-10 I'd say I'm about at a 6-7.

Thanks,
Keith

I experienced some neck pain and stiffness after a couple of my AB injections. It usually happened if my doctor had difficulty finding the right spot and had to stick the needle in three or four times. He went in from the side though so it's a little different than your situation.

I would definitely go in and see another doctor next week if the pain continues. Better safe than sorry.

Dave

Hi Keith! I always get two injections--one in my left vocal fold and another one in my false vocal fold (for extreme tightness and tension). Since I began having two shots (plus the deadening one) I've always had tenderness and some swelling from one to two weeks. It has never hurt to turn my neck, however. Obviously, you'll need to see a doctor if it doesn't get better; but for me, anyway, it's perfectly normal. Hope it's better by now, sincerely, grannijudi cjtrayler@xit.net

Hi:
Sorry to appear so panicky when I started this thread. Amazingly, the whole thing cleared up in 2 days. I was a bit scared that some sort of infection had set in, but apparently not. I don't feel that I've gotten the level of benefit from my last series of injections that I hoped for, but at least I'm not in any pain.
Thanks to those who responded to my hysteria....

Best,
Keith

I had negative symptoms from botox,so I chose not to get anymore shots.
I do remember a treatment where I felt like something was stuck in the back of my throat. Then when trying to drink water I had terrible choking. I felt I had no control over swallowing-and I was always caughing. The whole ordeal was terrible for me.
