Breathless after Botox

My friend who like me has SDAD had Botox Thurs 22 Feb. She doesn't have computer access so on her behalf I am asking whether anyone else has had shortness of breath after Botox. She has to prop herself up in bed to be able to sleep, and walk slowly and sit down to get her breath back. Should she seek help from the hospital or her local general practitioner? Or will it settle down.

I'm new with Botox only having 1 injection so far. I did not have any trouble with breathing, and haven't seen any post's on the BB about it, but that doesnt mean there haven't been discussions about it in the past. Try the "search" box and see if anything comes up for this topic.
As for seeking medical help, It sounds like her ENT should absolutely be notified. Maybe she got too much Botox?

Hi there,

I have AB SD, and I have had problems with breathing after some botox injections(I do have asthma which I think contributes to the problems). I would strongly advise that your friend should talk to the doctor that administered the botox and let him/her know the breathing difficulties she is experiencing. On a positive note, if this is a side-effect from the botox it should hopefuly ease within a week or two.

I hope things get better for your friend,

With best wishes,

Snowie

Thanks for your replies. I have just been talking to my friend and she phoned the ENT surgeon this afternoon about the difficulty breathing, and he said that is normal, and it will improve in a week or two, and she should then have a good voice. She said her husband has to sleep upstairs as he can't sleep with the noise of her breathing! She sleeps propped up with pillows.
Cheers
