HI - I have had SD for just over a year,I had my first botox shot and had a great result but of course it stopped working after about 12 weeks. Am due for my next shot in September but have been searching for alternatives to make the next few months easier. Has anyone tried magnesium Phosphate - I have been using it for about 2 weeks on a really regular basis (3+ times a day), Not taking any during the night my voice is not great in the morning but about 1 hour after the first dose it smooths out, still get some blocking and its not 100% but definatly having 80-90% better days than bad days, I have done some reading and it appears to be used to treat spasmodic nerve pains and nerologic things, does anyone else have experience with or know much about it would be keen to hear if others have tried it? Thanks Steph

Hello!

This is very interesting and it's wonderful if you have found something that helps you. I have been wondering about the different Magnesiums, but I'm not very good at chemistry and I find it hard to really get the difference between the different Magnesiums (Magnesium Phosphate, Magnesium Chloride, Magensium Sulfate, Magnesium Oxide etc).

If I have got it right, Magnesium can't be taken "pure", you have to tie Magnesium to another substance (molecyle). But I wonder if some combinations work better than others, especially when it comes to spasms...

Anyone who knows?

Have you tried other Magnesium products and do you get the same result with them or is it only with Magnesium Phosphate?

There is also Magnesium Phosphate in the form of a tissue salt (Schüssler salt) - but that's not what you are taking, is it? I tried it and it didn't help me in any way.

My health has been deteriorating badly on homeopathy the last two years (but last month I had the opportunity to travel to the best homeopath in the world. He told me that I have been on the wrong remedies so far and gave me something else and since then a lot of my new problems have diminished. I hope it continues that way).

Anyway, I started taking 340 mg of Magnesium Chelate before going to bed when I started to experience muscle twitching, jerking and stuff that I never experienced before. The Magnesium helped greatly with that, but it did nothing to my voice.

I don't understand how you can take large doses of Magnesium during the daytime - I get SO sleepy from Magnesium :-).

How high is your dose?
