I was in crippling pain with ST/CD ... after several medication tries and some success with botox, Neurontin was the magic pill. I can only pray that everyone insists to their doctors to a trial of it. For me, I knew after the very first 300 mg capsule (leveled off to 1,500 mg divided three doses per day). Others it may not help, help only a limited amount, or sadly, not at all. Please try it, tell all suffers that you know to.
Blessings to all. |

Hi, there, Welcome to the NSDA bulletin board. This board is primarily focused on spasmodic dysphonia (a laryngeal dystonia of the muscles that control the vocal folds). Laryngeal dystonias generally do not cause any pain. You may receive more responses to your post regarding cervical dystonia/ST on the general dystonia bulletin board which covers all types of dystonia. The link is below. Regardless, Neurontin can benefit SD. Prior to my surgery I used Neurontin, partially successfully, to help manage the vocal spasms. I was taking relatively small amounts, 300 mg per day or so, but it did help. Since the SLAD-R surgery, however, I've not used it. Gary |
