I am giving a speech about SD to a group of people in early January. Could you help me out by posting your hardest words to say. I'll start the ball rolling by saying that one of the hardest words for me to say is.....my last name. The OL part of it just doesn't seem to come out. What are yours? TIA wolfe |

My last name is 'Keith' and I struggle with the 'K'... it always comes out sounding like 'Eith'. Also words that start with the letter 'C'. I think it's the'K/C' that originates the sound from the back of the throat that are really hard to force out sometimes. So for example I would also really struggle to say Colleen! Nes |

Strangely, pronouncing my last name, Waters, sounded more like Walters. Repeating usually would not help so I would say; its what you drink from the faucet. They then understood. |

As the botox wears out, and I struggle through ADSD, I find short vowel sounds within words the most difficult to say. I am a teacher, and words including "hello," and "good" as well as spelling words aloud, or reciting numbers aloud are all pretty difficult. I am uncertain as to why saying individual letters are so difficult, or numbers, but they really are. |

I agree with all of this. Hello is really difficult for me. Or any word starting with a vowel. I have a combination of AB and AD dysphonia with the AD being more prominent now. And also spelling (individual letters) or numbers are really hard. It seems to be easier to keep running once I get started talking rather than stopping. |

My first name, Alison. I've been calling myself Susan when it's not important. For some reason that comes out easily. |

I have ABSD and the hard C's, F's, P's, H's, K's, and T's are hard to say. I always tell people how ironic it is that my name happens to start with a letter that I can say. When I try to say Kelly, most people think I say "Kerrie or Ellie". |

The hardest for me seem to be words with A...This is usually the norm when my shot is starting to wear off...The letter A itself is not hard to say...Words that require the back of the throat to form that aahh sound, Apple, Actually, Awesome are just a few. There's plenty more. |
