I had my 1st botox injection almost 2 weeks ago, although I have improved from after the shot, I do not think it any better than before the shot. I have adducter with tremor and strain. After the shot, I struggled mightily to pronounce words beginning with vowels-has anyone alse had this? Also, before the injection, I would get tremors in my throat--even at rest which were very annoying. I took a muscle relaxer once, after almost 2 days of this constant tremor and it finally quit. I am wondering if the injection is going to help with my speech at all. |

You might not notice any difference in your speech, but other people might...I would ask a couple close friends if they have noticed an improvement in your speech...The reason I say a couple of close friends is they are most likely going to be honest when telling you whether they hear any improvement or not...
A couple of other things that you said... It is common for adductor spasmodic dysphonia people to break on their vowels.(They are very hard for them to say.) I would say that it is UNCOMMON for this to occur after a botox shot as this is one of the things that the botox is suppossed to correct. As far as a tremor it sounds like you found a pretty good way to decrease, if not eliminate it...Different and interesting thread...I would be curious to see the responses you get to this... Renee |

Thank you for your input. I thought that it was kind of strange-as I did not really have that problem before. Not sure what to do if anything-I do not go back to the doctor until Sept 15th. |
