Laryngeal massage

Tomorrow is another botox day and I'm always anxious to go. I've had botox injections for about 20 years now and have had so many mixed results. Last injection was April 3. That one was very successful and I really think it's because I read all about laryngeal massage online and the results of relieving the tension in the neck. My Speech Therapist gave me some instructions and applied some lotion to help relax the muscles. I take the time to massage my neck around my larynx, each side of my neck, and up to the sides of my ears. I did this everytime I thought of it and felt it helped. Just wanted to share some info to all who are looking for some help.
Please try it and hopefully it will help.

What type of lotion did your therapist give to you? How many minutes is suggested for massage each day? What websites did you read about laryngeal massage? Any information you can provide would be so appreciated. Thanks for sharing!

She just used some over the counter skin lotion, I believe it was Curel or Eucerin. She massaged the front of my throat, around each side of my larynx and then applied presure when she massaged my muscles around my shoulders to my back. Those are always very tight. She said I have done this to myself from all the tension dealing with SD. I just googled laryngeal massage videos on You Tube. There are many videos. Hope it helps you and anyone else ready to seek some relief.

I have been doing laryngeal massaging for the past 3 months. I was told to do them all through out the day and to do it for at least a minute. My therapist also told me to massage my tongue by massaing under my chin. Both of these along with yoga has helped my voice. I also carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and Im doing different exercises for that.

I go back for an injection in November and I hope the botox will work for me as it hasnt the last two times.

MTD and SD
