I'm interested in finding out the pros and cons of false vocal cord botox injections vs true vocal cord botox injection. |

I’ve had two sets of injections in my false vocal chords after several rounds of unsuccessful injections into my vocal chords, and they have given me my voice back! For me it’s all pros: no major side effects and I’ve gotten my real voice back. We’re now working on increasing those dose so that I have a reasonable period of time in between injections. |

I've had false cord injections for maybe 5 years or more, after the regular kind stopped working. The procedure is more complicated, with several types of numbing and using the scope during the procedure, but there is ZERO down-time afterwards. I return to a normal voice about two days afterwards. |

It's called false cords, but it's actually the muscles just above the regular cords. She does the injection there, and I think it's 5 units on each side, but no breathiness afterwards. |
