Tonsils out Thursday

Posted by Narelle Lehane ® , Jul 23,2001,03:20   Archive
I am having them out Thursday, they are getting so big they are obstructing my breathing so it's bye bye tonsils at last :) So, I wont be around for a while, take care all!
Oh, and my Doctor is going to the States to see the Berke Surgery (took some convincing and lots of copies of posts from this board) so it looks like it will be coming down under at last :)
Cheers all
Narelle

Narelle,

Good Luck on your surgery. I had my tonsils taken out at age 35 and boy was it tough. It did help my SD for about a year. You'll do fine, it will be tough for a little while, but I am sure you've been through worse surgeries. God Bless, Jan

Narelle -

I'll be thinking good thoughts for you on Thursday!

Have you ever heard the Bill Cosby comedy routine about getting his tonsils out as a kid? (Cosby is internationally known, yes?) Anyway, he was told that after the surgery he could have all the ice cream that he wanted! And he went around singing (pre-surgery) "Ice cream. I'm gonna have ice cream. I'm gonna have it in the middle of the night. Ice cream. I'm gonna have ice cream." "You know what I'm gonna do?" he asked one of the other kids. "I'm gonna take that chocolate ice cream, and I'm gonna smear it all over my body. Then I'm going to put a cherry on my belly button. And I'll be the baddest chocolate sundae you've ever seen in your life!"

So there's a picture you can have of yourself as you go into surgery!

I wish you well (and all the ice cream you can eat), Robin

I schedule myself in for a tonsillectomay and that morning I wake up with tonsillitis - nice white spots all over the things and lotsa pain.
It's a strange world :( rescheduled for the 7th August, taking anti-biotics all the way till the - groan :((

Having your tonsils out can be SO traumatic, Narelle. You have my sympathy!
I can vividly remember when they took mine out, even though it was 50 years ago. It was without doubt one of the worst experiences of my entire life!
You'd never guess what happened to me! While I was in theatre, some rotten kid stole all my Donald Duck comic books. And I hadn't even finished reading one of them!
So a word of advice, Narelle, from one who knows - lock up your comic books before they take you away!
Jeff
PS - Ice cream has lots of calories. Just thought I'd mention it .....
:-)

Gee, thanks!! I'll put them in the trophy cabinet beside the tail of our late cat. Put a nice label on the jar, won't you. Perhaps the doctor should sign something to guarantee authenticity? :-)
