Hoarse voice after botox injection

I have AD/SD and received my first injections of two units on each side just over three weeks ago. After 24 hours, my voice became hoarse and weak. Although my voice is now a little stronger at times, I've been checking "Hoarse Voice" daily on the log my doctor gave me to keep. I understand every patient is different. I checked with my doctor last week, and he told me the transition to a normal voice would be gradual. Has anyone experienced this for this length of time or longer after an injection? I was hoping that after three weeks my voice would be closer to normal.

I have had botox shots for more than a year
now and I've had both whispery and hoarse
episodes lasting about 3 weeks ....and then
by some miracle I wake up one morning and
have a normal nice voice......but each
time I do worry that it isnt going to
happen......so hopefully we will both have
the pleasure of listening to ourselves
sound good very soon....good luck

I wish I knew if the first 2 of you ahead of me in this thread are AD or AB (Betty, you said you have mixed SD - thanks); it's hard to compare experiences. I am AB and am now 5 weeks post Botox: 7.5 units, right side, first treatment. The day after the shot my voice deteriorated to even weaker than it had been pre-shot -- I started the day sounding as bad as I usually did at the end of a work day, and much more fatigue from the effort of talking and from being out of breath with any physical activity. (I carry about 20 lb. more than I should, but this isn't a obesity issue.) At 3 weeks, I had one fabulous day when there was no breathiness at all, still some breaks in my voice and not much power, but hey! and my energy level was as it had been before I ever had SD symptoms. Then it was gone again. Just in the last 2 days, I find that I have less breathiness and am starting to feel less fatigued from talking. Not the dramatic experience I had two weeks ago, but this is definitely better. Will it last? Beats me. Is this comparable for others with AB SD? I'd love to hear from more AB folks on this -- I do read the BB daily and have checked out every posting on this topic, and I'm tremendously grateful for all who have helped me along this new road by sharing their own experiences. I now understand what a lot of variation there is in our experiences, so I don't have the sense that there is one "right" timeline for anyone.
We sure do need each other!

In the 10 years I had Botox injections (I am immune to Botox now) I had 4-5 injections that didn't take and 2 that seemed to take too well. On those 2 occasions my voice stayed hoarse up until my vocal cords started to spasam again. After the next Botox injection my voice was good again.
