I am also in the waiting stage after having a shot on Wednesday. I am hopeful as I already hear the clarity in my voice. After 14 years of voice spasms, I am actually pretty thrilled with this much of a change. I am eagerly anticipating the next few weeks. I think life will be awesomely wonderful when the full effects kick in! My voice was pretty hoarse and kind of scratchy yesterday, but I'm already noticing that things are getting better. I've noticed that ordering in restaurants, talking on the phone, and so on are better with a whispery voice than with a strangled voice. No one has asked me if I'm about to break down and start crying. Hang in there, we'll be philosophical together, okay?

Harriet, I just wanted to let you know that I understand about talking with friends! I always struggled to communicate with my husband's lovely grandparents who were both hard of hearing. I felt horrible that I couldn't get my messages across to them....between the spasms and not being able to talk loudly, it was pretty hard to communicate.
I can see where it would be difficult now, too, when we are in this hoarse/whispery stage.Hang in there, and keep me updated with your shot progress!
