choking is a common reaction to Botox that eventually goes away. ther's lots of discussion about it here, as well as some suggetistions for how to deal with it.

It isn't uncommon to have problems with choking after a Botox injection, however, this usually lasts for a period of 1 week to 2 weeks 'after' a Botox injection. You are far past that period of time.

I would suggest that you have this checked out Kathy - just to be on the safe side.

Good luck.

I noticed that same feeling briefly when I got my last shot. However, I think it was because of the anasthaesia they used. Once it wore off, the pressure on my chest went away. Maybe you're reacting to that (although it does seem like a long time)?

Kathy,

Good question. I'm not a Botox patient (I had vocal surgery) but you are getting good advice on this BB from others. And, you are staying attuned to your body's reactions.

I caught your post (Subject) because my voice/breathing situation has changed dramatically recently also. A post with "choking" in the heading catches my interest. I do that also lately...but with no Botox. Seems my chest and breathing passage and diaphragm is totally constricted lately also. I can't laugh these days, without choking. And, talking has gotten more difficult because I can't get air. Un-fun.

Good luck on this particular situation and I hope it subsides as your shot cycle progresses. Choking and not being able to breathe are not good things so I hope your doctor can help you, whether it be by adjusting your doseage or something else. Any of these things, which restrict the airway, are not to be taken lightly.

Keep us posted as to what happens. To answer your question, it could be either (Botox or something new) but you are paying attention to your body and seeking advice from other experienced patients and I hope you have a good doctor.

--Lynne

I had Botox injections July 19 and have had really bad choking problems. With previous injections I experienced swallowing problems but, have not had the terrible choking before. I sympathize with you. It is no fun. I get choked not only when eating and drinking but over nothing at all. In the last week it has gradually gotten better, still not good. TN/mixedSD
