Keep posting info on this thyroplasty procedure because it differs dramatically from the RLN and SLAD, in that it is *reversible* but it still resolves immediate vocal issues.

I was very impressed with the information we received at the Arizona SD Symposium last March, from Dr. Nicolas Maragos of the Mayo Clinic, in regard to this procedure that you two have had. For the doctors to be able to *tune it* (mid-process) while the patient is awake and talking and being able to reverse it is a MAJOR plus. Sounds good to me.

I think all cases are different. What might work for me might not work for you. Since this is a reversible surgery and not very complicated I would seriously consider it as an option. I am still trying to find the level of Botox that will help me after Thyroplasty. It has been almost a year and we are still experimenting with the dosage level.

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had as much success as you had hoped.

I really hope the Botox helps eventually. I always keep my eyes open

for your posts! As you know I had one side done, but it didn't nothing

for my voice. The wedge is still in there - I didn't bother having it removed.

How's your breathing been since you had the surgery? As I recall the

stints you had implanted were huge. Have you found that your breathing

is compromised?
