I was wondering if someone could describe exactly how a Botox injection is done in regards to how much of an injection goes on either side if you have a bilateral injection. My first injection was 2 units bilaterally, and my second injection received last Friday was 3 units bilaterally. Does that mean that half of that dose is given on each side, or does that mean that I received 3 units on each side? I did not experience any side effects with my first injection and my good voice only lasted about six weeks. My doctor decided to up the dose and see if that would give me a good voice for a longer period of time. She warned me about the breathiness and choking that I would experience, and this time I have had both of them! I am still having to think before I take a big sip of liquid and swallow it without tucking my chin down. If I do not remember to do this, I end up choking and coughing for a couple of minutes. I hate the breathiness, BUT if it will give me a good voice for a longer time once it wears off, I ca live with it. Does anyone have any tips on dealing with the burping that occurs after an injection? Thanks for any information you can give me. Pat Odell, Alaska AD/SD |
