Hi,

My first botox shot is beginning to wear off. However my voice therapist and my friends say I was breaking up more two weeks ago than I am now. I assumed once I started losing my good botox voice it would continue to go downhill. I have noticed that my throat seems less dry recently (less humidity right now in Cinti) so I was wondering if humidity could really affect the quality of my voice.

Interesting question, Mary. I've also wondered about atmospheric impact -- and why not (in some way), in that we do experience all sorts of effects from different aspects of the weather conditions.

What I've also noticed is that I don't have a straight-line curve of general deterioration, once my voice starts to worsen post-Botox. I thought I was headed down & out about three weeks ago, and experienced a pretty strong resurgence. This is an odd condition, for sure! And one that I, for one, can't assume I've figured out yet. Once I'm a few more years into my life with AB SD, I may feel like I know what it's like.

I'll hope for you a continued up-curve, as well.

Funny you should mention about your throat seeming less dry after the botox shot. I've been meaning to add a posting on a similar subject for a while. I noticed that after my most recent shot, that as my voice started to deteriorate, that I also found I had more phlegm in my throat. Has anybody else experienced similarly?
