I heard on the news that this coenzyme supplement was helping

Parkinson's patients by doing something to the basal ganglia

part of the brain. The report said it help the Parkinson's

patients go for a longer period of time before they needed the

heavy duty medicine. Since SD is possibly caused by something wrong

in the basal ganglia also, could this be of any help to us? I am going

to give it a try and will report back if anything happens. If anyone

has any sort of information about this or has tried it, let me know.

I have not tried Botox and right now do not want to so I am willing to

be an adventurer.

Gail, what's the recommended dosage? I know CoQ 10 is pretty expensive.

I found the study on the internet by typing parkinson/coenzyme.The study gave the dosages in 300mg, 600mg & 1200mg. All groups did better then the ones that did not receive the coenzyme. The 300 and 600mg patient's disease was slowed down by 20% and the 1200mg group was slowed by 44%.I think this will be very expensive in the larger dosages the study indicated. This is a recent medical finding so maybe there is some hope it can help SD people. I would just like to see if it has any effect on my voice at all. I am going to look into the study further and see what I can find.

Dear Gail,

I too read the article about COQ10 for Parkinson Disease. I was absolutely fascinated with what it had to say and would love to hear from you after you've taken the COQ10 to see if you notice a difference or not. I immediately went out and bought a bottle of it to try for myself and am already taking it so maybe we can compare notes?

Good luck and thanks for posting.

Sincerely,

Lu AB/AZ

P.S. Botox didn't work for me.
